Diwali is one of the main festivals of Hindus. This year, Diwali will be celebrated on October 27, 2019. Diwali is celebrated to mark the return of Lord Rama to Ayodhya. On this day, there is a law of worship of Lakshmi Ji (Diwali Puja).

According to Skanda Purana, on the day of Kartik Amavasya, after bathing in the morning, all the gods should be worshiped with the following method (Diwali Pooja Vidhi). If possible on this day, do not eat during the day.







At home in the evening, new idols of Lakshmi and Ganesh should be installed in a house by making Swastik and rice. A water-filled urn should be placed in front of the idols. After this, sitting in front of the idols, taking water in hand and chanting the purification mantra, it should be sprinkled on the idol, on the family members and in the house.

Jaggery, fruits, flowers, sweets, durva, sandalwood, ghee, panchamrit, dry fruits, kheel, batashe, chowki, Kalash, garlands of flowers, etc. should be used to worship Lakshmi and Ganesha with complete rituals. Along with these, Goddess Saraswati, Lord Vishnu, Kali Maa, and Kubera Dev should also be worshiped in a systematic way. 11 small lamps and one big lamp should be lit while worshiping.









All the small lamps should be lit on the frame, windows, and roofs of the house and the big lamp should be kept burning in the night at the place of worship of the house.

Essential content in worship

Roli, rice, betel-betel nut, cloves, cardamom, incense, camphor, ghee or oil-filled lamp, kalwa, coconut, Ganges water, jaggery, fruits, flowers, sweets, durva, sandalwood, ghee for Mahalakshmi Puja or Diwali Puja, Panchamrit, Nuts, Kheel, Batashe, Chowki, Kalash, Flower garland, Shankh, Lakshmi and Ganesha idol, Thali, silver coin, 11 items, etc. should be collected for worship.

Laxmi mantra

At the time of worship of Lakshmi, the following mantra should be chanted continuously:
ऊं श्रीं ह्रीं श्रीं महालक्ष्म्यै नम: ॥









Deepawali Puja Muhurat

Goddess Lakshmi is worshiped on the day of Deepawali during Pradoshkaal. It is believed that by worshiping Lakshmi at this time, the man never has to face impoverishment.
